It's Arthur's Fault (Jericho). This isn't actually a restaurant, but a cooking class
in the home of Arthur and Laurel Shelmandine, held each Friday and Saturday. Arthur,
recently featured in the Burlington Free Press, teaches aspiring chefs from all walks
of life how to make everything from gourmet pizza to Moroccan cuisine.
The Mist Grill (Waterbury). Start your day at the Mist Grill, where the fresh coffee
and pancakes with diced Vermont apples will prepare you for the day ahead - and the
incredible views of the waterfalls will stay with you even longer.

Ski, ski and ski some more. There are more ski resorts in Vermont than there are candles
on a Miley Cyrus birthday cake. A few of our favorites: Stowe Mountain, Okemo Mountain,
Killington and Burke Mountain.
Go sledding. Grab your snowshoes, strap your sled on your back and head up the nearest
hill for thrill that's sure to make you young again. If maximum speed is your objective,
a pair of Vermont-based companies (Mad River Rocket Company and Hamerhead Sleds) produce
performance sleds. Great hills for sledding include Burlington Country Club in Burlington,
Marshall Hill in Stowe and Landry Park in Winooski.

Rekindle romance on a sleigh ride. Sleigh rides with loved ones through the snow-covered
countryside have become a Vermont tradition. Several ride packages are available through
a variety of local bed and breakfasts.
Norman Rockwell Museum (Rutland). Much of Norman Rockwell's art mirrors small-town
life in Vermont, where he moved his family in 1939. The museum, a short day-trip from
Killington, features a complete collection of Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post covers
and is open year-round, except holidays.
Take a dog sled tour. Some Vermont kennels, such as Peace Pups Dogsledding, offer
the chance to explore the countryside while being pulled by Siberian Huskies.
Ben and Jerry's. If you're headed to Vermont with little ones in tow, you'll owe it
to them to make a stop by this Waterbury-based factory. The tour is free, and comes
with a free sample.

Church Street Marketplace (Burlington). This four-block, pedestrian mall in downtown
Burlington features a pleasurable mix of local stores and well-known names, such as
Champlain Clothing, Urban Outfitters and Banana Republic. Located along the Lake Champlain
shoreline, the views aren't bad, either.
Stowe's boutiques and shops. In Stowe, the shops and coffee houses are family-run
establishments, with nary a chain in sight. Find all the gear you'll need for a day
on the slopes, as well as a variety of locally grown foods and one-of-a-kind crafts.
