The nearest commercial airport is Long Island MacArthur Airport, 50 miles away. Guests can also fly into the smaller airports at Montauk and East Hampton. From MacArthur Airport, take 495 east to exit 70. Take 70 south to Sunrise Highway (Route 27). Follow 27 east to Montauk, on the ocean, to Old Montauk Highway. Gurney's Inn is two miles east of the fork. From Brooklyn, take Belt Parkway to Southern State Parkway, turn east to Sunrise Highway and proceed as above. The resort is a 3 HOUR DRIVE from NEW YORK CITY.

Montauk is a fishing town, and restaurants in the area claim 'you hook 'em, we cook 'em'. There are charter boats for small groups, party boats for larger groups and the beach for surfcasting. Tourist attractions include the Second House Museum, the Third House Museum and the two-hundred-year-old Montauk Point Lighthouse, the fourth oldest functional lighthouse in the United States. Championship golf and tennis facilities are only three miles away. There are also lots of charming shops to browse nearby.
