The nearest major airport is approximately 85 miles away in Norfolk, Va. From the airport, take I-64 east to Highway 168 south (Battlefield Blvd. exit) to Highway 158 east. 168 becomes 158. Entering the Outer Banks you will cross the Wright Memorial Bridge. Once over the bridge, distance is measured by milepost markers. You will start at milepost 1. Go south on 158 to milepost 9 1/2. You will come to an intersection with a "Burger King" and a "7-Eleven" on the left. Turn left onto Neptune Street which dead ends on Virginia Dare Trail (Route 12). Turn left onto route 12. High Dunes is a short distance on your right. Keys will be in a drop box under the building marked RCI.

High Dunes Resort is set on the beach in Kill Devil Hills, between the towns of Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. The fishing in the area is superb. Ten miles from the resort is Oregon Inlet, Blue Marlin Capital of the World. For sightseeing, be sure to visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Roanoke Island, the first English Colony in America.
