The Rushes

Bordering The Rushes is picturesque Kangaroo Lake. From the resort, a variety of water sports are available. Go fishing, canoeing, windsurfing. Take a paddleboat onto the lake. All crafts are available at no charge. While at Bordering the Rushes, enjoy the indoor recreation center, including the indoor pool and exercise room. Relax in the whirlpool tub and steam room. In warmer weather, enjoy a game of tennis on the asphalt courts or play sand volleyball on the beach. Snow shoeing and ice skating are two of the winter sports to be enjoyed. Four miles of groomed, cross-country ski trails are on site. A children’s play area is also available.

Relax in front of the wood-burning fireplace, with free firewood, after a day of outdoor, winter activities. Enjoy scenic views of the woods or Kangaroo Lake. Prepare a meal in the full kitchen one night instead of going out for the evening meal. A separate dining area, as well as a dishwasher and microwave oven, add to the convenience of the unit. Additional seating is throughout. Each unit features a flat-screen TV. Sliding glass doors lead to a private deck with grill. Family-friendly, the two-bedroom units sleep up to six guests, and the three-bedroom units accommodate between six and eight visitors. A washer and dryer are also available.

Spend a relaxing vacation enjoying the beautiful vistas surrounding Kangaroo Lake. Explore miles of shoreline or go for a scenic bicycle ride or horseback riding. Take in 18 holes of golf, about 10 minutes away. Be sure to visit the Cana Island Lighthouse, built in 1870. This is only one of three lighthouses in the United States with a distinctive birdcage dome on its top. Spend a day at the local art galleries, unique gift shops, or wineries. Live entertainment venues and a variety of restaurants are within a 15-minute drive.
