El Calafate is located on Lake Argentino's shore, which covers almost 1,000 miles
and presents a deep territory due to its glacier origin. Los Glaciares National Park
has a 600,000 hectares area, from where 47 glaciers became detached. Viedma, Marconi,
Moyano, Upsala, Agassiz, Bolado, Onelli, Peineta, Spegazzini, Mayo, Moreno Ameghino,
and Frias are some of the most important. The city has an international airport,
14 miles far, with departures to Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Ushuaia, Puerto Madryn,
and Trelew. There are several excursions to enjoy here.
